Funebre - Congenital Defeat
Funebre ( formed in 1988 ) was one of the very first Finnish Death Metal bands, together with local bands, Xysma and Disgrace in Turku city of Finland. Short lived band recorded their first demo "Cranial Torment" in 1989. Next year they got signed to the american Whisper in Darkness records, that released band's two demo songs on "Brainspoon" EP (1990). At the same year they also recorded their second self-produced self-titled demo. 1991 they released their first and last full-length "Children of the Scorn" through Finnish Spinefarm records. Their album was produced together with the famous guitarist of Stratovarius, Timo Tolkki. This is a song from their first and last full-length "Children of the Scorn"'91

Podcast: Treatment for Congenital Nystagmus
Join Akron Children's Hospital March 28th, 12:30 pm for a procedure to correct a rare eye condition called congenital nystagmus, which causes rapid, uncontrollable eye movements that often blur vision. Robert Burnstine, MD, director of pediatric ophthalmology at Akron Children's Hospital, will perform the surgery, while Amarpreet Singh, MD, will act as a moderator. About one in 3000 people have congenital nystagmus, and many of these individuals are partially sighted. Some are legally blind. Few can drive a car. And almost all encounter some difficulties in everyday life -- both socially and practically.

2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act: Congenital Heart Defects
Congenital heart defects are the most common type of birth defect, affecting eight out of every 1000 newborns. The frequency of recurrences in the same families strongly suggests there are genetic contributions. Dr. Edward Lammer, a pediatrician and medical geneticist at Children's Hospital and Research Center in Oakland, California, discusses his research project on congenital heart defects, funded by the National Institutes of Health's National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute through the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Working with CHOA to Study Congenital Heart Defects
Dr. Mary Wagner. Wagner is leading a project that looks at physiological properties of human heart tissue from pediatric patients. A big part of that research involves looking at heart tissue from infants and children who've undergone heart surgery. For this she's collaborating with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Mary Wagner, phd, is Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Emory University School of Medicine. Her research labs are housed at the Emory-Childrens Center, a joint venture between Emory Healthcare and Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta. Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta is one of the largest clinical care providers for children in the country. Haiti: Congenital syphilis on the way out
Congenital syphilis, which is passed from mother to baby, kills hundreds of thousands of children worldwide. Swift diagnosis and a simple injection of penicillin before birth can stop this. Wake Forest Surgeons Repair A Common Congenital Heart Defect
Heart Center cardiologist Sanjay K. Gandhi, MD, assistant professor of medicine performed a congenital heart defect repair live on the Internet Tuesday, June 6 at 5 pm The procedure will be narrated by his colleague, cardiologist Renato M. Santos, MD, assistant professor of medicine. Patent foramen ovale (PFO) is a common congenital heart defect found in 20 percent of all adults. It occurs when a fetal opening in the wall (septum) between the left and right atrium—the upper chambers of the heart—doesn't close after birth. This residual tunnel can potentially allow blood to leak between these chambers.
