www.reviewstl.com - Kirk Jones made a recent stop to St. Louis during the St. Louis International Film Festival to promote his new film Everbodys Fine starring Robert DeNiro, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale, and Sam Rockwell. He was nice enough to sit down with the local press. You might know him from his previous films Nanny McPhee and Waking Ned Devine. He has moved over to American cinema, and is offering a new take on an Italian film by Giuseppe Tornatore. In our interview we got to talk about things such as working with Robert DeNiro, adapting an Italian film, and his amazing biography according to RottenTomatoes.com. Synopsis of Everybodys Fine: Everybodys Fine, a remake of Giuseppe Tornatores Stanno Tutti Bene, follows a widower (De Niro) who embarks on an impromptu road trip to reconnect with each of his grown children only to discover that their lives are far from picture perfect. "Our House" Fosters Mental Health Rehabilitation. John Diaz has a shovel in his hands and he is thrusting it into the rocky soil. Between the clanks of hitting the chunks of flint buried where new plants are supposed to go he talks about his plans. "I'm going to college right now so I can get my degree in business management," Diaz says. Thirty-four year old Diaz is landscaping. Planting little shrubs in front of the wooden two story house at 1530 North Alamo street, right across the street from the Pig Stand parking lot. Diaz suffers from schizophrenia, and he is a valuable member of the Our House family. "I like the atmosphere. People are friendly, and then they are my peers as well. Everything about the Club House, everything I like," Diaz said. Our House is a caring and nurturing community where individuals with mental illness can learn how to reconnect with society. Mark Stoeltje, the executive director of Our House, says the members reconnect by running the center themselves. "What's more important than the final decision that happens is the process of making the decision," said Stoeltje. "An example I'll use is whether to move the coffee pot from the kitchen to the workroom," he said. "In most work places someone would just unplug the coffee pot and move it, but we gave everybody a voice. And everybody had an opinion. Visual effects of The Transformers
This video is not mine, it belongs completely to the owners. I only put it on YouTube so more people can see it. Digital Domain completed nearly 100 visual effects shots, including the character animation of several robots, for the release of Michael Bays Transformers. Among the robots created by Digital Domains animation team was the severed head of Decepticon Frenzy, as well as robots that transform into objects such as a cell phone, a steering wheel and a vending machine. Digital Domain was also awarded shots of the Autobots earthly arrival in the form of asteroids and a flashback sequence set in the Arctic Circle. Following an intense battle with Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) and Mikaela Banes (Megan Fox), Frenzy is decapitated by a circular saw and the severed head becomes a crab-like robot determined to reconnect with the rest of its body. By disguising itself as a cell phone, Frenzy is able to transform and stow away undetected in Mikaelas purse. Digital Domain tackled the robotic animation of Frenzys head in concert with director Michael Bay and integrated the character into live-action photography filmed at the Hoover Dam and other locales. David Prescott, visual effects supervisor at Digital Domain, oversaw the work along with animation supervisor Dan Taylor and visual effects producer David James. Also animated by Digital Domain was the Nokia-bot, a cell phone transformed into a tiny warrior by the Allspark cubes energy, as well as the Mountain Dew-bot, a vending ...

August, 1965. Ruth Anson, a teenage-reporter for ABC-TV news, is covering the 'teen-beat.' One of her first interviews: the Beatles, where she asks a young Paul McCartney if he has any plans for marriage. His response, "Only if you'll marry me." Forty years later, Ruth, in search of "closure," obsessively attempts to reconnect with McCartney. "Help" is provided by an opportunist film director who sees Ruth's personal quest as a golden opportunity to reach his professional heights. He assigns a camera-crew to follow Ruth as she, in turn, follows McCartney. But it's not long before the director realizes this 'serious documentary' could just turn into a money-pit with limited marketability. And then he has a brainstorm: in the spirit of reality-TV, he manipulates his production to become more entertaining ... and far more embarrassing for the unsuspecting Ruth.
