Moon test with my Celestron telescope 114mm.
This was the night of 23 April 2010,doin a test with my camera sony ( just in my hands not mounted) and my Goto telescope Celestron nexstar 114mm SLT with a 9mm eyepiece. this satisfied me to get a ccd camera from meade for imaging! This was at the marina in Aylmer Quebec.

Jupiter 08/04/10 08:00(UT) Thru 114mm Newstar Reflector
The Solar storm we experienced made for a humid 21 degree night and to my surprise, some of the best viewing results for observing Jupiter through a 6mm eyepiece.

La lune au 114mm - 1er quartier
2ème vidéo de la lune depuis mon télescope (toujours le Eden Astro). Le ciel est de meilleure qualité. Oculaire LV 12mm Filtre polarisant Lumicon Nokia N70 Avec un grossissement plus faible (75x), on obtient une pupille de sortie plus large donc une image plus facile à centrer par projection. Moon fly by, movie of the moon from my telescope and webcam
Video taken with a cheap tasco 114mm reflector & £35 philips spc900nc webcam. Now moving on to the planets and the stars.Hopefully you can see its an actual movie NOT a pan across an image, there is a small amount of digital zooming in to show detail. Working Porsche 912 Tacho in VW type 3.
Testing out a Porsche 912 tachometer in a VW type 3 notchback. Must say :) never seen such a responsive tachometer. Nice match for the VW since the Porsche 912 is also 4 cylinder. This tacho is 114mm on the body. Too big for a type 3 but will fit a vw beetle since their dash hole is 114mm.

Weather Balloon Burst Video
To capture this video, I used a 114mm Meade newtonian reflector telescope (F=910mm) with a 25mm eyepiece and a Sony Handicam (model DCR-SR40). I simply pressed the camera up to the eyepiece and held it in place with plastic tie straps. I also used a trajectory forecast from the University of Wyoming to estimate the burst location. weather.uwyo.edu You will need to determine the location of the balloon release for the calculator (most likely your local NWS office). Here is a site with more information. www.ua.nws.noaa.gov You can load this flight profile into Google Earth. Just remember that the balloons are actually released one hour before the sounding time. So the 00z flight is released at 23z and the 12z flight at 11z.

A Basic introduction to Telescopes
A general run down of the main functions of the two main types of telescopes, Reflectors and Refractors. The telescopes which are shown are a 70mm Refractor, 130mm Reflector and 114mm Reflector - I apologise for the bad quality of the movie, when recorded on my camera it appeared fine, but the software which I used to edit the movie seemed to bugger it up, so both the video and audio were poorly shown.

Extreme Screwcutting - Hughes Precision Engineering
Major diameter of thread is 114mm, minor diameter 88.5mm, form is trapezoidal with a 1" (25.4mm) pitch. Thread depth is 13mm. Material is cast bronze, about 25 kilo's and about a grand worth just in casting. Was shitting myself every time the tool entered the job (well at least on the first one, i made two).
